Portrait drawing has always come quite easily for me.  I just didn't know what to do with it. For many years I have ignored it, refused to explore it for fear of becoming a human xerox with no imagination...that didn't feel...fulfilling to me for some reason.

So I have revisited this talent of mine and have found ways to explore colours, shapes, shadows and feelings throughout my work.

When I draw a portrait of someone...whether it's someone I love, or a stranger....I connect with that person in a different way. I spend hours studying their expression, their skin, their outer self. Somehow my portrait drawing connects me to people...makes me feel more as one with others....
